Alfa Investment welcomes the opportunity to discuss your company's financing and collaboration needs. Generally, we find that entrepreneurs' operational and financial vision is best communicated when they submit a concise business plan. The plan should discuss the company's industry and the company's product and service, the company's history, its management and its current ownership. In addition, the plan should include an overview of the use of proceeds, market and competitive analysis, financial history, and financial projections. We prefer to receive business plans in electronic form.
Summary
Alfa Investment believes strongly that positive business relationships require trust and mutual benefit. We believe entrepreneurs need to evaluate investors just as investors and capitalists evaluate entrepreneurs. We have found that the best way to begin a dialog is to ask the entrepreneurs to submit a short (3-5 pages) executive summary.
The following outline and associated questions are intended to provide a guide for an executive summary that thoroughly lays out the business plan.
I. Opportunity Profile
- What are the macro economic drivers to make this a compelling opportunity?
- What specific problem does the company solve for the market?
- What are the advantages of your product or approach?
II. Technology/Product
- What unique technology and/or know how does the company possess?
- How does this technology result in compelling benefits to the customer?
- Why is the product superior to other competitive products?
III. Market Opportunity
- Who are the users for the product/service and how many of them are there?
- What are the underlying market drivers that are fueling growth in the market?
- How is the company positioned against competition?
- Methods of achieving the benefits the company delivers?
- Cite any 3rd party market studies that could be helpful.
IV. Business Model
- How will the company sell its product/service? What is the marketing strategy?
- What is the pricing for the service/product?
- How will the customer perceive its value?
- What is the product to market strategy?
- Who are potentially good partners for distribution?
- Who are the key market influencers that the company needs to target?
V. Management Team
- Who are the founders?
- What are their backgrounds?
- Who else is on board now?
- What are their roles?
- Who else needs to be hired?
- Please provide a pro forma organization chart.
VI. Financial Summary
- What has been the historical performance?
- What is the forecast for the business over the next 3 to 5 years?
- How much money has been invested to date? Not including the sweet equidity.
- How much sweet equity in the company?
- How much money is the company raising?
- What are the company's comparable public companies?
- Cite any analyst reports that have been written on your market opportunity.
VII. Use of Proceeds
- How will the company spend the money?
- What milestones will be accomplished with the money?
